I haven't actually seen Faye and Morris' new baby because they acquired her since we've been in Southeast Asia on Lifeline. So I can't tell you anything more about her than you can see in these photos. (Fortunately Nordhavn passagemaking powerboats don't need any introduction.)

1 October 2007. This is what Faye has written about their decision to find and buy MY Panacea:
LISTEN TO YOUR HEART.
I get asked a lot how and why we decided to purchase a boat in USA, so far away, and bring it back to Australia. Wasn't is all too hard?
After much thought, I decided to put my experience down on paper, hopefully to help others who need just a gentle word of encouragement to step out of their comfort zone & take a "risk". Listen & trust that gut feeling which will help fulfill a life's dream which is what happened to me.
JUST AN IDEA.
When an idea or thought continually nudges you & you cannot get it out of your mind, you have 2 choices ..
1. Ignore it, forget it & not listen to that feeling
2. Be open to the possibility, follow your heart & let this new experience create & open up a new world to you.
An idea starts just like a seed in fertile ground, sitting on the top not establishing any roots. The next time it pops into your thoughts, it grows a little & an excitement deep in your stomach starts. A "maybe", "can I" or "Hey I could do this" run through your mind. You have the choice to dismiss it at anytime. This is often the easy way out, but my, what are you missing out on?
WHAT CAN HAPPEN IF YOU DO YOUR HOMEWORK.
This is what happened to my husband Morris & I with wanting a boat. Not just any boat, one that would not limit us to hugging the coastline but leave our options open to go "WHEREVER". We did our homework by going to China to check out the factories where the 3 types of boats, we liked, were built and by doing this we ,hopefully, would have no doubts. The Nordhavn was by far the most equipped and had all the extras we were searching for in a boat. Doing as much research as possible, really pays off and avoids disappointment, financial loss & wrong decisions which may lead you down the wrong path. By asking questions & networking with other boaties, you will find that the right person will miraculously cross your path & have the answers or the support & guide you down the right path.
TAKING THE RIGHT PATH.
Once you start moving forward, you will find it will happen effortlessly with no obstacles if your direction is right. If you happen to meet "roadblocks" this, most likely, means that there is a process you must go through first in order to achieve a positive & correct result. If you listen to your instincts & don't worry about the outcome, you will find you are going down the correct one. Just when it appears that things are getting comfortable & it's all a bit cruisey, you may get a "kick" in the pants to move forward as each event seems to segue into the next harmonious breakthrough.
STEPPING OUT.
A new Nordhavn would take 2 years to be completed which was too long for us and the only previously owned Nordhavn boats we could find for sale on the'net were in California or Florida in the US. So off we went, very confident that one of these had our name on it. We arranged inspections through P.A.E the Nordhavn company & found one in California that fitted in our price range, although it looked a little sad with faded dark grey gelcoat. We put in an offer on this & another boat but to our surprise no one wanted to negotiate, so a little shell shocked, we came back home with our tail between our knees.
THE POWER OF POSITIVE THINKING.
After returning home, I placed a photo of the one we really wanted on our fridge door & continually hoped ( & prayed) that this boat would become ours.
It is hard to keep the "spark" alive but this is what being passionate about something does & throw in some positive thinking.
The lesson of patience is an ongoing one for me, being just a mere mortal, but I rarely take the easy way out by giving up or saying,"It was never meant to be" or "It would have been too hard".
Imagine the feeling when 4 months later, we received a call from the P.A.E broker in California inquiring if we were still interested in making an offer on THE boat. Having the ball in our court made for a smooth sale & settlement with no negotiation. Low and behold the other broker rang next day to inquire if we were still interested in their boat.
JOURNEY OF A LIFETIME.
The journey of a lifetime began that day, flying to California & cruising 3200 nautical miles & visiting 5 Central American countries with adventures and experiences one could only dream of. We put our boat on Dockwise, the floating boat transport ship, in Golfito, Costa Rico to be freighted direct to Brisbane, Australia where she arrived 3 weeks later.
SHARE YOUR KNOWLEDGE>
By overcoming adversity, I believe we can share our knowledge with others who will also benefit & who knows, follow their dream & fulfil their life's plan. Our feelings & opinions are important & will always be our best asset.
I have learnt a very good lesson, it is a shame it took me so long, LEARN TO JUST BE & NOT ALWAYS DO.
Take lots of deep breathes, count to 10, be patient & wait for the flow of PEACE through your body, there will ne no feeling of doubt.
LISTEN TO YOUR HEARTS INTUITION & FOLLOW ITS GUIDANCE AS THIS IS YOUR SPIRITUAL BLUEPRINT.
Stay tuned for the story of our trip from California to Costa Rico.
